IBUMARI Design studio has been created by Yves Plattard, former senior designer of Yamaha Design Lab.

From Lyon, France, he graduated from a bachelor's degree in technology in 1998 and from industrial design in 2000. He started his career in design agencies in Paris and then in England.

During these years in Europe, he concentrated my energy in turning ideas into practical, desirable, successful products in electronics, transportation, musical instruments, medical equipment, eyewear, baby goods, power tools, sport & Leisure.

Among others for: Alcatel, Columbia, Lacoste, Black & Decker, Lindam, Cycleurope, Peugeot.

In 2007, he joined the Yamaha Design Laboratory in Hamamatsu.

It was in 2014 that he created the IBUMARI, a multicultural and multidisciplinary design team, with the aim to bring original and relevant solutions to Japanese and international companies.

“It is by relying on my experience that I can find the right approach to address a problem; my sensitivity allows me to do it with elegance and, finally, my intuition brings out innovation.”

HAND SKETCHING

Often neglected with the emergence of new digital tools, we like to carry on the tradition of hand sketches.

Unlike computer-generated drawing, pen drawings do not leave much room for correction; it is a very good school of rigor.

CURIOSITY

Disassembling, analyzing and reconstructing is one of the pleasures of designers.

It's one of the ways to understand how objects and design rules work.

We strive to keep the curiosity of a child.

3D WORKFLOW

We model in 3D with Solidworks and we know how to provide clients with files that are finely built in the rules of the art and that can be directly used for research and development.

RAPID PROTOTYPING

The studio is equipped with CNC and 3D printers for rapid prototyping, models, ergonomics, etc.

This is the best way to visualize quickly the new concepts.

MOCKUP

We have within our team of great do-it-yourselfers for the realization of models, for transformations and creativity. Contact with the raw material is essential.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION

It is not always easy to visualize a concept. Combining models and photorealistic renderings allows you to project yourself into the future and share your vision with all those involved in a project.

We are using Keyshot to generate photorealistic images of future projects to facilitate visual communication.
